About Us
SAVE OUR TOWN!
There is still time to lodge your objections to council plans to build 3,500 homes on the downs north of the water meadows. The ‘consultation’ exercise is over, but you can still sign the petition being raised by STAND – Save The Area North of Dorchester – a protest group made up of ordinary townspeople opposed to this massive scheme that would desecrate this landscape for all time.

Keep in touch – read the Voice!
Dorchester is one of the most creative, switched on, environmentally-aware towns in England. The town offers a wide choice of alternative therapists, and independent retailers, including health food stores and gourmet shops selling fresh local produce – much of it organic. Dorchester has a vibrant arts scene and some great local pubs and restaurants. So if you want to know what going on in and around Dorchester, look no further!
Back issuesCoronavirus and the Voice
The coronavirus outbreak and lockdown restrictions mean that it has been impossible to bring you the May-June issue of the Voice.
Even when the lockdown is eased, ongoing restrictions on cafes, pubs and restaurants, who form the core of both our advertisers and pick-up points, make it unlikely we will be able to resume publication immediately, so a July-August issue is also unlikely.
We hope to resume publication in the autumn if we can raise enough advertising support, and ensure the magazine reaches sufficient numbers of readers. We will continue to update the website where possible.
In the meantime, stay safe.
