Two students from Thomas Hardye School in Dorchester have raised funds for charity.

YoungFundraisers-Nov2017-WeldmarEmma Betts and Isabella White chose to fundraise for the volunteering section of their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

They raised money by holding cake sales over school breaks and lunch times for three months, raising more than £320. They decided to divide the cash between Save the Children and Weldmar Hospicecare.

“We each picked a charity and I chose to give half to Weldmar as one of my mum’s friends, Emma McConnell, spent her final days there, as did our neighbour Margery,” said Emma.
