Knitted dolls made by RVS volunteers will be going on display at Dorchester Library as part of a celebration of the Royal Voluntary Service (formerly known as the WRVS) and its 80-year history.

The RVS display will run for two weeks from Monday 15 October, and it is hoped that many people will come and see what our generous volunteers, clients and supporters have made for us. The knitted dolls will be for sale after the exhibition, from the RVS office in The Old School House, 49 High West Street, Dorchester, DT1 1UT (tel. 01305 236666). All money raised will go directly towards supporting older people in Dorset.

The RVS is also taking this opportunity to spread the word about its Home Library Service, which is available across Dorset, Poole and Bournemouth free of charge to anybody who cannot easily get to their local library. Books and talking books are chosen and delivered by Royal Voluntary Service volunteers every three weeks, providing reading materials and a welcome visit.
