Dorchester’s Marks & Spencer store is set to shut its doors for the last time in February despite a campaign to keep the store open.
More than 5,000 people signed a petition, which was sent to the struggling retailer calling for a rethink – but to no avail. A staff member told the Voice the store would close on 22 February, though the company would not confirm the date.
“We can confirm that M&S Dorchester will close at the end of February,” said a spokeswoman. “The closure is a difficult but necessary part of reshaping our store estate to ensure all our stores meet the needs of customers today – and those of tomorrow. We value the feedback from our customers and our priority is supporting our great team.”
