What do you have in your attic? Remember all those pictures you never had room to hang? Or the ones you decided you didn’t like after all?

Then why not donate them to Dorchester Arts, and then visit the Big Picture Sale, sponsored by Gallery on the Square, to find something more to your taste.

DM-in-shop

David Murdock of Gallery on the Square, Poundbury and Brewery Square, is sponsoring the Big Picture Sale

If you love art, pictures and images of all kinds, come and immerse yourself in an afternoon devoted to the visual arts. As well as a sale of donated pictures of all shapes, sizes, types and tastes, there will be a gallery of affordable local artists, talks and practical advice from experts.

We cannot guarantee you will discover an unknown Da Vinci, but if you have always wanted to start a collection or discover your own masterpiece, join us for a picture-perfect afternoon. You can donate pictures of any size or type at Dorchester Corn Exchange during office hours in the lead-up to the event on 10 March.

Brewery Square gallery

Gallery on the Square has just moved its town-centre branch from Antelope Walk to bigger premises at Brewery Square.

The shop offers a unique blend of home decor, fashion, glass and ceramics, along with original art. Owners David and Stephanie Murdock opened the branch three years ago, having set up the now well-established Gallery On The Square in Poundbury in 2011.

David said: “We have seen how much our customers appreciate things that are well-designed and just a bit different.

“In 2019 we intend to be introducing the work of more UK designers and makers, and we look forward to helping our customers find distinctive products that are a bit out of the ordinary.”
