Dorset Sinfonia will be staging a delightful performance of French classical music for its Christmas concert.
A departure from their traditional festive repertoire, this year the popular Weymouth-based orchestra will be playing pieces from 19th and 20th century France in a concert entitled Ce n’est pas encore Noel! (It isn’t Christmas yet!).
The programme, designed to be entertaining for all ages, includes the well-known Arlesienne Suite No. 1 by Claude Debussy, the dramatic Roman Carnival by Hector Berlioz and the much-loved Orpheus in the Underworld (including the famous Can-Can finale) by Offenbach.
Conducted with great flare by David Ansell and led by the supremely talented Rachel Greenwood, Dorset Sinfonia will be performing at Weymouth Bay Methodist Church at 7.30pm on Saturday 8 December.
Tickets are £10 for adults and free for under 18s and will be available from Dorchester Tourist Information Centre and on the door.
