A new folk club has been set up in Dorchester. The club, which started on 1 November, is a weekly event for folk musicians and enthusiasts at Tom Brown’s pub in High East Street.

Singers and musicians are welcome to turn up from 7.30pm every Tuesday. Folk Sundays at Tom Brown’s will consist of ‘floor spots’ for individuals, duos or groups, performing unamplified traditional or contemporary folk music, and will end with a session that all can join in with. Entrance is free.

Those wanting to reserve a floor spot are advised to come early (before 8pm), or call Jerry Bird on 07747 072303 in advance.

The organisers hope this new, regular event will attract some of the musicians and singers who frequented some of the previous folk clubs that have been run in Dorchester. Whether you play or not, come along and enjoy a relaxed evening of acoustic music in a friendly atmosphere.
